Publication Guidelines

FINAL MANUSCRIPT REQUIREMENTS

All manuscripts accepted for publication in the Review must be submitted in Word and e-mailed to Anne Macy (amacy@wtamu.edu).

1.     Spacing and Type.  All manuscripts should be single-spaced using size 10 Times New Roman font.

2.     Margins.  All pages of the manuscript should have one-inch margins.  The paragraphs should have a five-space indentation.  The body of the document is fully justified.

3.     Title and Headings.  Manuscript titles should be left-justified and bolded in all capital letters.

·       (1) First-level headings should be triple-spaced below text, left-justified, bolded, and in all capital letters with no numbers.

·       (2) Second-level headings should be centered and bolded, with only the first letters of main words capitalized.

·       (3) Third-level headings should be at the left margin and underlined, with the first letter of main words capitalized.

·       There should be a triple-space before and a double-space after all subheadings.

4.     Author name and affiliation.  Each author’s name should be followed by a comma and then the affiliation.  The name and affiliation should be in italics.

5.     No Cover Page, Page Numbers, and Headers/Footers.  Do not include a cover page with author contact information.  That information can be included in the submission email.  Do not include page numbers or any headers/footers.

6.     Abstract.  The abstract should appear three spaces below the title in a section entitled ABSTRACT.  It should present the principal substantive or theoretical points of the manuscript in no more than 100 words.  Be sure to provide the three-character JEL code(s) most appropriate for your paper.

7.     Tables, Figures, and Illustrations.  All tables, figures and illustrations are at the end of the article.  Tables, figures, and illustrations should be typed on separate pages. The headings should be in all capital letters.  When composing tables, the table format or the tab key should be used in lieu of “spacing over.” Do not just copy and paste tables from Excel into Word because they may appear fuzzy in the final production.  Instead, create the tables in Word.  Figures and illustrations, if they cannot be created in Word, need to be captured in as high a resolution as possible tiff (DPI of 300 or higher) if they are to be included in the manuscript.

8.     Formulas.  Formulas should be single-spaced with two spaces above and below each formula.  Each formula should have a number in the parentheses on the right margin.  If possible, use the “insert-symbol” function in Word for formulas.  If you use an equation editor, you need to save each equation individually as an image as a .tiff with a DPI of 300 or higher.

9.     Endnotes.  Endnotes are discouraged.  If it is important enough to be in an endnote, it can included in the body of the manuscript.  If endnotes are imperative, they should be consecutively numbered within the text and appear at the end of the text and before the references.  Do not use the endnote function in Word.  Footnotes are prohibited.

10.  References.  References should be placed at the end of the manuscript, with a hanging indent, in a section labeled REFERENCES, following APA format. Here is an example of the reference style.
